• American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) publishes information for researchers, practitioners, patients and the public, including journals, position papers and news releases.

• American Academy of Family Physicians is a national non-profit medical association of more than 85,000 family physicians, family practice residents and medical students. It maintains Family Medicine Online for the public and AAFP Online for members.

• American Academy of Pediatrics is committed to the attainment of optimal health for infants, children and young adults. The American Academy of Pediatrics is a member of the Allied Vaccine Group.

• American Association of Immunologists. The association's purpose is to advance knowledge of immunology and foster interchange of information among workers in the field.

• American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA) is the national professional society of pharmacists. There is a wealth of material at this website, including information about Immunizations Guidelines approved in August 1997 by the APhA Board of Trustees (look under Professional Care in the navigation bar at the left). The site, which uses frames, can be a little difficult to navigate.

• Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) seeks to help prevent illness and infection worldwide by advancing health care epidemiology through education, collaboration, research, practice and credentialing. It publishes the American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC).

• Australian Society for Microbiology, South Australian Branch (ASM) is headquartered at the University of Adelaide.

• FASEB, The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, is the largest coalition of life sciences societies in the United States, and represents over 42,000 biomedical and biological scientists.

• National Advisory Committee on Immunization is the official body that advises on recommendations for the use of vaccines currently or newly licensed for use in humans in Canada, including the identification of high risk groups for whom vaccine programs should be targeted.
